PHILOSOPHY

The goal in every class is to create an environment where our children feel free to join in on the fun of music making.  Kids learn through play, experimentation and by watching and listening to those around them.  At Smoky Hollow Music your child will never feel pressured or expected to perform or play in any one specific "correct" way - but rather to do whatever comes naturally to them on that day.  After all, we are all at a different place on our musical journey - and we will all learn and take away from the class exactly what we need at that moment in time.

Believe it or not - YOU are your child's most important music teacher.  Through class, I will provide you with the tools you need to recognize and nurture your child's musical behaviors and new songs to add to your repertoire.  But it is only you - the parent or caregiver - who can instill in them the joy that comes from making music together.  You are your child's most important role model and they want nothing more than to be just like you.  So if you enjoy singing, dancing and playing along to the music, your child will too!
